These barrels can be replaced with ease, however some door lock cylinders may require a key to remove cylinder from the lock case. Replacement cylinders can be purchased from most master locksmith’s retailers - locksmith’s shops in the UK.

Upvc lock systems are normally fitted off set in the door edge. So this requires an off set cylinder or barrel. The cylinder shown here is offset.
Although they come in different sizes this is a 35mm x 45mm the measurement can be fixing screw to outside or just body size not including cam.

EURO LOCK CYLINDERS BARRELS

Upvc doors locks are common place now and this is the type of cylinder used to lock the multipoint lock system. These EURO PROFILE CYLINDERS key operated from both sides providing security from inside and outside the property. The cylinder shown here is a standard 40mm x 40mm, however on Upvc door locks the cylinders are off set.

EURO THUMBTURN CYLINDERS BARRELS

Euro and thumb turn cylinders are commonly used in residential homes, hotels, public sectors and where fire escape may be required. It is similar to the euro key and key type but has a turn on the inside. This turn is not removable but still allows a key to be used from the outside.
Again ideal for elderly people where home help requires access to the home.

HALF EURO AND HALF OVAL LOCK CYLINDERS BARRELS

HALF CYLINDERS can be used on cupboard doors, stock rooms and on most applications where the lock needs only to be operated from one side. This is not suitable on office door locks where there may only be a single exit. Once locked the lock cannot be opened unless a turn or specialist fire escape lock system has been installed. Available in either Oval or Euro profiles.

SWEDISH DOOR LOCK CYLINDERS BARRELS

SWEDISH OVAL CYLINDERS are commonly used with Assa abloy locks. These are bolt through cylinders with large round security shrouds protecting the cylinders. These can be purchased separately or in pairs. These locks are also common place in detention centres, hostels and government buildings. The lock cases from Assa Abloy are normally high security locks with bolt through fixtures such as handles, dead knobs and pulls.

OVAL LOCK CYLINDERS BARRELS

The Oval Cylinder is less common than a euro cylinder. The oval cylinder has all the variations, sizes, finishes, and offset cams, thumb turns as the euro cylinder but it oval in shape as opposed to the euro that is "KEYHOLE" shaped. Always double check to see if its a euro cylinder or an OVAL CYLINDER
